"That people seem to think that taking my wife’s last name should be in some way emasculating as a man and a Christian just goes to show how deeply rooted that oppression still is in our culture, even if we’ve come light years from it in the interim."

I am trying to promote people who are doing small, thought-provoking, counter-culture things in the name of love and respect. This guy is one of them. I don’t really have an opinion on name changes with marriage because I’m not married. I think that should be considered by individual couples. However, as someone who is wildly attached to their name, and trying to figure out what is biblical and what has somehow been adopted as biblical, I really appreciate this. I also love how annoyed it seems people are over it. Thoughts?
